[Tigers] valve extractor for tool kit

Well sometimes, the seat material on the Schrader valve take a bit of a teensy set and needs to be tightened, not necessarily removed. So having one is handy. Me? I have one that is a cross shape with thread chaser for cap treads, a tapered extractor for removing a broken Schrader valve, a thread chaser for the Schrader threads internal to the stem and the one that unscrews the valve itself.

Probably a couple of bucks at Autozone or your fav parts place.

Perhaps the bigger question is how many times has anyone changed one? I admit I did it once - and it turned out not to be the problem.

Nah, I think it is the Schrader valve that is in the wheel air system tool being sought. The tool you show might actually be used to tighten or remove that also. The one below is a fancy version. They come in all kinds of different forms. Even some valve stem caps have it built in. My Tiger tool kit did not come with one.

You must be talking about this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunbeam-Tiger-Alpine-Plastic-Valve-Stem-Extractor-for-tool-kit/332984724770?hash=item4d876fad22:g:r9wAAOSwFSxZ~Mb5:rk:1:pf:0 as an item of the exact name is on Ebay now.

The term itself seems confounding. I can only think of two types of valves in a Tiger. The 16 valves in the engine and the heater control valve. Given the engine valve stem and head are one you would not be “extracting” one from the other and surely not with plastic. I’ve never had the heater valve apart but from its appearance this device seems to have little or no purpose. Could it be that the word “valve” has an expanded British meaning? I know they often call vacuum tubes “valves.” Frankly it looks like a shaft for a radio knob..., or a tool for adjusting old style potentiometers , capacitors etc..

A quick flip through TBON revealed a picture of a Mk II tool kit, and nothing there resembled a valve stem extractor.
