The fires here went by our house and by our horse- very fortunate times 2!

I’m about 75 miles north of Thousand Oaks and we just had some smokey days. I have friends that have had close friends affected by the fires and the shooting.  It is heartbreaking to witness so much destruction in an area that I am very familiar with. Of course, the Camp Fire in Paradise is way north of me but, extremely horrific as well. Thanks for checking in.

The good news (though I live in live in Thousand Oaks) is that the fires (plural) both were wind driven south and avoided the center of town where I live. The closest the fire got was 8 blocks away. Unfortunately this was not good news for those south of here.

 

Also my daughter frequented the Borderline and nearly went Wednesday night for a friends birthday. For whatever reason that didn’t occur and we are grateful she was not present on that night of carnage.  So for my household we are doubly blessed to have avoided these heart wrenching situations.  Thank you for your concern.

Hey, everyone:

I have been watching what's going on in California and wondering how everyone is doing.  Do we have any members who have suffered losses in the fires and/or have been evacuated?  My heart goes out to all who are suffering right now; the devastation appears to be totally beyond belief.
