I will give my $0.02

I put epoxy coating on my garage floor approximately 6 years ago. Did all the proper prep work and it went down very easy. I put the chips down but would not recommend this if you want to find ANY small parts that fall onto the floor. I also put down the silicate Anti-Slip chips which I would also not recommend (much harder to clean the floor as the chips catch all the dirt). I also put down the clear coat which I would also not recommend. It yellowed pretty quickly. After the first year - I was not impressed with the epoxy coating but I lived with it while looking at what else was available. I looked for the next 4 years.

I concur with the others about putting down Race Deck - I ended up putting down Race Deck about 6 months ago. There are a number of reasons that I am very happy with this product besides looking great.
1. It was very easy to install even with a garage full of cars and tools.
2. It is holding up great to dropped tools (the epoxy tended to chip with large wrenches being dropped), floor jacks and my 4-post Bend Pac lift.
3. It is impervious to any kind of liquid I have dropped on it to date: including coolant, oil (the epoxy stained with oil), brake fluid.
4. I can easily find small parts that have dropped.
5. Clean up is so simple - Sweep with a broom, wet mop, and it looks like new.
6. The best part is my knees now feel great after working in the garage all day. Working on the cement all day was killing my knees. The epoxy did nothing to help that. The cushion from the Race Deck did the trick. I can work all day now and not wake the next morning feeling 150 years-old. (word of advice for anyone putting down race Deck - lay landscape fabric down under the Race Deck - That will keep it from sounding like you are walking on plastic.
