Joe,
Mine never had anything either. I managed to find a nylon bushing at a hardware store that actually fit nicely when I did the rebuild.

</div>Hi,
In the shop manual there is a drawing of how the handbrake cable attaches to the rear axle. Is there supposed to be a bushing or something in the "axle casing bracket" where the handbrake rod slides through? In the attached photo it looks like there is something there where I added the red arrow. I don't think there was anything on my car and it looks like the rod was slowly rubbing into the bracket.
I looked at both the Alpine and Tiger parts guides and I don't see anything in there about the handbrake.
Thanks,
Joe Brown
