                Thank you for the information.

This is exactly why I ask if anyone has measured the valve size to clear up
this discrepancy.

I don't want to guess which size is correct I want everyone to know which
is correct from a direct measurement.

The Shop Manual lists 1.67" - is this a typo or is it correct??

Ron, an aside. I have an old ford book that lists the different sizes for
some things. One was valves. It includes the valve diameters for the 289
200Hp , and 302 220 hp versions.. Both were 1.780 inches for the intake and
1.45 for the exhaust. Not what you asked, but pretty likely they didn't
change for a dinky order like the MKII quantities. Now the book is a ford
publication for muscle cars as well.

Has anyone measured the intake valve diameter in their Mk II 289?

The Mk II head should be C6OE-M - let me know if you have a different head
casting number.

I have 1 source that indicates 1.78" and 2 sources the indicate 1.67".

I would like to clear up this fact.

Thanks for your help
