Section O of the Shop Manual - the word Seelastik is used. I'm not
sure what the equivalent is for that possibly Butyl sealant.

I do not remember using anything for the window but I did make sure I
cleaned out all the mold release agent on the weatherstrip before I started.
If I did use something it was rubber cement.

The 2 clips are tough. I reshaped the clips some so they fit better and
stayed in place - many trial and errors to make them fit OK. I also used a
very little bit of black strip-calk - 3M 08578 to help hold them in place.
Butyl Sealant or similar may be a better choice.

I believe but I'm not totally sure that originally the clips pierce the
rubber to hold in place plus held with sealant. Do you have the original
rubber to see if this is correct?

Subject: [Tigers] More Hardtop Questions

Listers -

A couple more hardtop questions...

I recall a situation where an owner had trailered their Tiger to a United on
a flatbed and left the windows open. Apparently the air pressure at 70 mph
blew the rear hardtop window out and onto the freeway. Not looking to
repeat this bit of bad luck. Is any adhesive used to hold the rear window,
or is the weatherstrip alone considered sufficient?

I'm having trouble getting the stainless trim clips at top/bottom of the
rear window to stay put in the weatherstrip channel. Any tips/tricks to
keep them in place?

Thanks much,
Graham
