If you sand blast it, make sure you cover all the ports, no matter how well you think you cleaned it, you can still have sand inside. Sand blasting also leaves a finish not looking 100% original.

Thanks guys.
Blasting it back to natural seems to be the preferred option. It is on the car and the engine is running great. As we approach the driving season, not sure I want to tear things apart right now. I did the current finish several years back. It actually looks decent, I just thought it came out a bit too shiny. I was hoping for a duller, more natural look. Seems the only way to get that is to blast it.
Thanks again.

Jim,
I would suggest the aluminium finish. The F4b would have been installed as a natural casting, so a lightish grey.In theory you should just hyrdoblast it and install, but it will darken over time with heat and dirt.

Hi All
I am planning to refinish the f4b manifold on my MkI. I am thinking of using Por 15 high temp manifold paint.
My question for the List is which shade is correct for an f4b...the factory gray or the aluminum. See the link below...it has an image of the different shades available. FYI...other than a few LAT options I have a very stock (restored) car and I want it to be as close to original looking as possible.

Thanks
