[Tigers] Tigers Digest, Vol 10, Issue 202 - Electrical Question

I am not sure which wiring diagram you are looking at, but the wiring diagram for all 3 Tigers (Mk 1, Mk 1A, and Mk II) all show 4 wires attached to the wiper motor.  I haven’t looked at my wiper motor itself, but are the connections onthe motor numbered the way they are in the wiring diagram?  Looking at the wiring diagram for the Mk 1A,it shows connection 1 on the motor having a green wire, which is 12V coming offthe switched fuse. Connection 2 has a red wire with a light green stripeattached to one of the connections on the switch.  Connection 3 has a brown wire with a lightgreen stripe connected to the other connection on the switch.  (The wiring diagram gives no clue as to whichconnection is which on the switch.) Lastly, the diagram shows a connection 3 having a black wire which goesto ground.  Attached (hopefully) is part of the wiring diagram from the workshop manual to show the wiring just for the wiper motor and switch.  Good luck!

Ok, I see the problem...

There are 3 wires to the wiper motor and a ground.

All of the Tiger wiring diagrams show 2 wires and a ground!! Humm...?? 
LUCAS !?

So..?? I don't know..
I figured it out years ago..? I remember that much.? It was the 
discovery that the switch connects
a ground and not a 12v hot that let me figure it out, see my explanation 
below
