[Tigers] Hasn't been discussed for a while

Some things to consider:
• Many people feel strongly that they have agreed value, but many are wrong. They have stated value. Nice but not the same. The bottom line here is to not believe anything anyone tells you, only believe what you read in your actual policy.

• Many if not all of the classic policies do not cover anything if someone under 25 is driving. For me that’s a non-starter. I’m not doing this without my kids.

• Many if not most will not insure if you don’t also have a car younger than 10 years old. Some go to 15. But your wife’s car doesn’t count. This was a problem for me until this year when we got the Type R.

• Some really don’t like you parking at a hardware store. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been known to make a quick stop on the way home from a drive.

Just things to think about. Yes, classic car insurance can be good, but in a number of cases, it is “no” insurance, where “lesser” insurance would be better than no insurance.

I periodically jack up the insured value and they do not give me a problem over that. They do insist on having an appraiser come out every couple of years to verify the car still looks like the photos they have on file and there are limits on annual mileage. If I want more miles, pay more $. I have another classic car (not a Tiger) insured in another state (co-own it with my son) and use Hagerty. They are OK, too. If I want a higher insured value, they let me do that on line and they adjust the rate accordingly.
