Joe,

Don't think a washer will work. The cup portion of the piece you are describing fits down into the spring and prevents it from sliding off the spring..  A flat washer will eventually work it's way off the spring. This should be a part that appeared on other British cars. Someone must know of a source. Mark L

I have two questions about installing the brake and clutch pedals.

1. I have two springs and one of them is a little larger than the other.  Does the larger one go with the brake pedal?

2. According to the repair manual there should be a sort of cupped shape circular piece of metal that goes over the master cylinder rods so that the springs can ride against the pedals.  I can't find these anywhere in my boxes of stuff and the usual Sunbeam suppliers do not carry them.  Does anybody know of a source for these things?  It looks like I can just cut a slot in a big washer and make that work.

Thanks,
Joe Brown
