I have a balance pipe on my car, its a 2.25 into 2 x 2.5 main pipes just
behind the headers.
There was talk a while back about the ideal placement of the pipes (from
the headers) and also a discussion of the ideal size.
IIRC anything beyond 1.5 was not of much benefit, its more about balancing
the pressure/scavenge than size.
X pipes would be better.. but where can you fit hem on a tiger? (someone
probably has done.. iirc on the CAT forum somebody posted a setup a few
years back)
I will say that the balance pipe takes some of the harshness out of the
exhaust sound.
