[Tigers] Tires...

I only really play with performance tires, but, I see no reason to seek out "touring tires" for our cars.. Reason being, most Tigers don't see enough use to have actual tire wear be a primary consideration...most cars I see need tires changed because of age before wear. Might as well enjoy the additional grip, relative to a 400TW all season!

While no longer at the top of the performance tire pile, the Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec is a great option. Good grip,good wear, not bad in the rain,  nice feel...and they are available in a 195/55, as well as 205/50 and the more normal 195/50. The 195/55 is a little taller, with more sidewall, than the 50 aspect ratio, which many feel looks better in conjunction with the 205/50 rear...the 195/50 is a pretty short, minimal sidewall tire and gives about 1/2" "tire rake". A set is under $500. 

If performance is the primary objective, the BFG Rival S 1.5 or Bridgestone RE71R are the top street tire performers. I'm in the process of moving from BFG to Bridgestone on my SCCA autocross car, once we work out details.
