Allan, there is an how to restore you steering wheel to original appearance, including the material to use during the replacement of that black piece of material. I can't recall who made the post or were it can be found BUT it is very good. I had it but someone stole my yahoo account and luckily I saw on ebay I was selling a motorcycle or some high dollar con. When yahoo returned my account, all of the contents of my Tiger folder were gone. I was sick, still am. Perhaps Jay Laiffman can help. I don't know if he is maintaining his Fathers website, if he is, that is where I would start.Tony Lang (TtT)

The dark " line" sandwiched into the center of the wheel's wood ... is it plastic?

I have seen Kens work at SUNI 5 and it is excellent. That said, earlier on Monday, Lynn posted two numbers, one was Madera Concepts in Goleta, CA 805-692-0053. After seeing the post I thought to myself, I think they are the business that re-veneered my dashes which are absolutely beautiful. They redo Rolls Royce wood and veneering. So I called Tony, an easy name for me to recall. I didn't get to talk to Tony as he had passed a few years back but his business partner answered the phone and we had an excellent converastion. They also do steering wheels and if it ins't totaled, he quoted me beteen two and three hundred $$. Now I would send him pics, his name is Steve, I THINK, heavy on the think. IF they sent me back a steering wheel that was as pristine as the dashes, it too would look better than new. He did warn me that many steering wheels are bent from big guys pushing themselves out of their car. being 6'2, I put both feet on the ground and stand up but others may use the wheel getting in and out. Hope this helps anyone redoing an original steering wheel.

Jeff,
Try Ken Corbin at creedo at ix.netcom.com/(303) 364-5787. He redid an old one for me and seemed to be willing to do more. Not many Tiger owners using the originals now. Good for your!!
