My take is that the Heritage Trust may give insight into the production details of the VIN, but has no insight into whether the VIN is still attached to the original vehicle produced ;)

See link below for info on the Rootes Heritage Trust Certificates

http://tardis.dl.ac.uk/ARCC/heritage_certs.html

The Rootes Heritage trust has made considerable in roads in obtaining access and preserving Rootes company records. More info is available on their website http://www.rootesarchivecentre.org.uk/

As for the color black...”The Sunbeam Tiger was available in the following colors: 1 Embassy Black...” (Book of Norman, p. 135)

Subject: Two questions

I just received the July issue of Hemmings. They list a Tiger that was sold at Godding and state that it had a Rootes Archive Center Trust Certificate. I had never heard of this. Is anyone familiar with this certification?

Second question relates to another statement in a Hemmings publication (Sport & Exotic Car). The interview with a Tiger owner who has a black car says that black was not a standard Tiger color and had to be ordered special. I wasn’t aware of this. Is this true?
