Bill
Thank you for the great picture of the C2OZ-9741-B bracket and for the clarification of the picture in TBON. The pictures I used of that bracket were off an early Mustang with a 260 engine.
As I stated the C2OZ-9741-B bracket is listed in the Tiger Parts List, Section CF. I have a couple of pictures that show that bracket on Tiger engines. My quest here is to find out if that bracket was really part of the Tiger engine build or just a typo in the Parts List.

That bracket is from a falcon with an automatic, not a Tiger piece. It mounted on the top center valve cover bolt and was for the spring that pulled on the kick down linkage.
The image in Norm's book is from Chassis B9470040 and I have no Idea why Gordon Chittendon put the bracket on the car, if you look close you can see the short early
spring bracket behind it.

Here is some more trivia.
Tiger Parts List
Carb controls – Section DF
1224891 Spring – Accelerator return
1224854 Bracket – Accelerator spring anchorage Mk I
1229919 Bracket – accelerator spring anchorage Mk II
These parts all have Rootes part numbers.
Gary your bracket should be the 1224854 part. Again, note that the Mk II part has a different part #.
This seems to indicate the Mk II bracket is different somehow.

Any of you have this bracket on your Tiger engine?
I do not have a clear picture of this bracket so I cropped a couple of pictures to show most of it.
Bob Mannel’s book has a couple of pictures – pg. 2-23 and 5-21 – pg. 5-21 also shows a picture of the 1965 bracket which might be on the Mk II engine.
There is a picture of it in TBON under the front valve cover bolt on pg. 148. I also have a fuzzy picture of this bracket mounted under the intake manifold bolt with the spring attached.
Here’s some trivia for you – this bracket C2OZ-9741-B is listed in the Parts List – Section CF – note the 2nd part # for the Mk II
Carb – Section CF
6100458 C2OZ-9741-B Bracket – accelerator return spring Mk I
6100910 Bracket – accelerator return spring Mk II
This bracket could be anywhere on your engine – I have 1 picture where it is just a spare part on the engine.
