Both Sunbeam parts suppliers are out of stock on the trunk lock and key parts. None of the locksmiths in this are have the proper kit or even willing to try and rekey to ignition key.
Does anyone have a source they are willing to share?

Joel:
You might just try another locksmith. I just had the center console lock rekeyed to one of my other keys and the locksmith I used had no trouble whatsoever. I think that sometimes when people hear what the locks are off of, they just automatically say that they don't mess with stuff like that. I'll bet you can find another locksmith in your area who would be willing to give it a try. You might even check with other British car owners in your area to see who they have used in the past for something like this.

Try Peter Groh. He might be able to help.

I have to say, though it's been many many years, like 20 years at least, I know that I once got my keys done on my Alpine at the local hardware store. So, I have to believe that while they may be harder to find these days, at one time they were a more common stock. So there may be other suppliers than our marque vendors (as much as I support them at every turn).

If a replacement key is needed you might try Triple-c.com If you have your key number they can cut a new one or possibly provide an original. I recently used them to get keys for another (1957) Rootes vehicle and they had NOS keys in stock.
