My Mk 1A has nuts welded underneath to the floor pan for the seat belts.
The nuts have a short shoulder machined into them so they stick up near
flush to the inside floor pan.
I believe those seat belt bolt positions were standard. There is also a
position for a shoulder harness belt on the rear wheel wells - mine were
welded over.
I see few choices if you welded up these positions. You can drill new holes
and weld nuts to the floor pan then touch up the paint.
Bolt in hardware kit - bolt, large washer, nut - no paint touch up
Eyebolt hardware kit - eyebolt, large washer, nut - no paint touch up - hook
and latch style seat belts required.
If your buckled into the seat it is not going to tip.
If your concern is with the empty seat tipping - fasten that seat belt to
limit its movement.

Subject: [Tigers] Seat Belts and Seat Slider
I must confess, when doing metal and body work, I did not think ahead
regarding seat belt mounting locations. I know with 1968 and newer cars you
are required to wear a seat belt but I am sure I want them on any car I
drive.
So, what do people do regarding adding seat belts 'after' welding is out of
the question with new paint completed and carpet installed? My MGB has
welded in captive nuts for belts and shoulder strap mounting points and I
guess I was thinking the Tiger MK 1A had them as well - bad mistake.
Options now?
My other concern is with the seat slider where the seats 'raise/tip' forward
with no way to hold back of seat frame from tipping forward in case of front
end accident. How have folks addressed this issue or is it a none issue?
Regards
