[Tigers] Horn wiring

Also, if you look closely using “smoke-test” you will notice the southern hemisphere horn output rotates counter-clockwise vs clockwise for northern hemisphere. Of course northern/southern hemisphere clocks work the same way but most folks don’t notice since they are respectively upside down so things seem to turn in the “right” direction.

Regarding the battery terminal advice below. It is quite important. If you do in fact reverse the polarity the horn will suck instead of blow (as will the heater fan) and the tail lights will glow “white” while headlights will glow “red”.

Also, don’t forget that cars manufactured in southern hemisphere use left-hand thread hardware….. so don’t try to mix/match parts or the car will be cross-eyed and you will end up with 4-speeds in reverse.

Cheers,

Wayne

Of course, it should always be remembered to switch terminals on the horns whenever
the car is moved from the northern hemisphere to the southern, or vice versa. A careful
inspection of a South African Tiger will show that the horn connections are opposite to
those used on the home market cars.
