TBON notes that the Tiger Jack was painted Black and the Alpine jack was
painted gray.

More on tools.
Years ago, visiting friends in Berkeley CA, I stopped at a junk  yard,
rummaged through a junk Alpine they had in a pile, found a jack and  brought
it
home.
Recently, I was refinishing it to put in my rehabbed trunk and found the
Alpine jack to be approx. 3 inches or so shorter than my original Mk. 1A
jack.

Did Mk 1s have this shorter jack, or just Alpines or what?
