I guess it depends on what flavor of silver solder you are  talking about. 
There's some silver solder for electrical use that melts  around 220C.  Its 
not pure silver, but an alloy of tin and  silver.

I wouldn't  try to repair pot metal wilt silver  solder. Pot metal melts
around  370 degrees, and Silver solder melts around  1200 degrees.  Regular
solder around 370 degrees
There are low temperature rods  specifically  for pot metal that melt around
350 degrees. Goggle  'Muggsey weld' and you can  get the information.
