[Tigers] Glass problem

I'm certain somebody has the right answer to this question, but back in
the 60's, I had a scratch in my Mini Cooper windshield and an old-timer
at the local glass shop polished it out with a buffer and some sort of
polishing/buffing compound. I think I remember a compound stick of some
sort. I remember that it took a while, but it worked.
