Jay,
Years ago it was known that the foam that came in the re-build kit was really
too large a diameter. I always just used my old one. I am not sure it is good
to totally eliminate it. You can "carve" down the new one with scissors if you
have too but it might be alot of work...

Subject: [Tigers] Possible solution to servo issue

I just spoke with someone and I thought I'd pass along what he said.

He suggested that it is just the huge piston of the servo sticking inside
the canister. He said to pull it off and if it is not leaking in there, to
lubricate the leather, and also to consider taking OUT the foam that is
under the piston. He said that he has heard that people have a lot of
success removing the foam and the servo still functions very well. He
suggested that taking the foam out was better even than lubricating the
leather - better in that it would have the biggest impact.

For lubricating the leather, he said he has heard a number of different
things, but doesn't know if any are better than the other.

So unless someone convinces me not to try this, that foam is coming out!

Jay
