[Tigers] 1962Cobra

Actually all small- block Cobras, at least the street versions, came with egg
crate grills, including my '64 289. This was a carry-over from the AC Ace,
which in turn was a carry over from John Tojeiro's early '50s Bristol engined
racing special that served as the prototype for the Ace. I'm guessing the
grill was influenced by the Ferrari grills of the period. The transverse
leaf-spring suspension used on the AC Aces and small-block Cobras was likely
inspired by a pre war Fiat with a similar suspension.

I can't say where the idea came from. But, this 1952 Ferrari egg crate
grille seems to predate the Cobra!
