[Tigers] Spare Tires - Non Tiger

We've had a couple vehicles where the spare tire is stored under the
back end.  On both, the steel rimmed spare has rusted to s**t after a
few years exposure up here in the salt and snow belt.  Now we're about
to get another car that will have the same problem.  

 

I'm tempted to give the spare rim about 8 coats of rustoleum, but I was
wondering if anyone has ever seen a cover or something similar that
could protect the spare from the elements.  Any ideas out there?
