Hi Duke, 
 
To get the correct 10 lb preload on the throwout  bearing when the clutch 
is engaged, divide 10lb by the throwout arm  ratio and select a spring that 
will provide that force when the clutch is  engaged and also stretch to the 
full length without taking a set when the  clutch is fully disengaged.
