I've always thought that ANY bar (roll/show whatever) is going to be 
stronger than the erector set soft top frame, the sheet metal hard top, or 
going "topless," the windshield frame.  That was my plan when I threw down 
all of $35 for a used showbar.

 Being long waisted I'm about as tall as someone 6"4" - sitting down.  "Duck 
and Cover" are also part of and emergency plan regardless of a bar.   :-o
