It is not the original engine. When I bought the car it had a 302 and a C4 AT. The valve covers appear to be original, although I don't know if they "belong" to this car. I'll send the numbers to you later. I think this is a 70's vintage 302. I've been so focused on the body that I haven't paid much attention to the drivetrain.

I'm conducting an original Tiger engine study with respect to the Ford
Engineering #s and Dade codes.
If you have the original engine I hope you would consider participating.  If
you do not have the original engine and you would like to know what you have
I will gladly go through the #s with you.

My access to the list has been restored!  Many thanks to MJB!  While I was
in limbo I managed to have the Tiger dipped in Portland Ore.  Pics are
available at http://picasaweb.google.com/allfudge1635   I am now working on
the jig so I can start repairing the damage.  I'm thinking I lost about 40
lbs of bondo and fiberglas.  I have been informed many times I'm taking on a
lot of work (usually expressed as "you're crazy , dude!" or something more
profane than that), but I've got time and help.  Should be fun.  Comments
