Thanks to all for the possible scam statements. Sad to say this paypal issue
is from the genuine folks (pals?) at paypal.

The 'verification' notice popped up  directly after I went to pay for two 'buy
it now' sales on eBay. Of course, the notice would have been a little more timely
had they just sent a message PRIOR to any bidding, but that apparently wasn't
their style.

So, somehow find alternate pay plan for open sales, and longterm, open minimum
stand-alone account just for paypal with low balance. Stay tuned.
