Just a comment about the coolant level in the cooling tank.
If you add an overflow tank and a cap like a Stant with a double seal and
a toggle relief valve, you can keep the tank and radiator absolutely full
at all times so that;
* the radiator is always full of coolant and all of the radiator
core is used.
* there will be no aeration of the coolant to degrade the waterpump
efficiency.
* when the engine gets hot, the over flow coolant is saved and
returned to the tank during cool down rather than on the road or track.
* the overflow tank becomes the place to check the coolant level
without removing the cap.
