Used chainsaw oil seems to work ok.  After all, it has stood the test of trees!

I have used Mobil 1 15/50 since 1986.  No discernible wear.  I dont live in

Would changing to synthetic oils eliminate the need for the additives  that
are supposed to reduce wear on the valve train?
