'Am I missing something?  I had thought that the
production Tiger bodies were all made by Jensen,
a totally separate company, before being sent to
Rootes for the final touches such as the power train.  Is this wrong?'

The order is backwards. Alpines and Tigers first started out at Pressed Steel,
where the bodies were built. They were able to incorporate some of the Tiger-specific
features there. The Tiger bodies were then shipped to Jensen to be completed.
