Thanks Gary.

Looks like that settles it. It was a running change and there are Tigers
with the early (sturdier) type. I'm going with those.

B9470622 still has its original bumpers. The over-riders are like you
describe
2226483 style.

Subject: [Tigers] bumper over-riders

Hello,

I got a set of bumpers chromed recently, and now am addressing the
over-riders

In the Alpine parts list there are two listed:
2226483 and 5115347 and from the outside they look identical.

The 2226483 seems to be an over-rider with slightly thicker steel and an
internal brace brazed inside. The brace has a bolt hole which is threaded
for the fixing bolt.

5115347 has thinner steel, no internal bracing, and a carriage bolt hole
to
stop the fixing bolt (carriage) from turning.

I have a Mk 1A with the latter type and am tempted to switch to the old
(seeming all around better) type. Further, I don't know if any Tigers
came
with early type.

Anybody have an inside line on this issue?
