Mine is still original and has a gloss black finish.  It doesn't look like
it was intended to be painted over.  But I'm sure some original owners might
have requested that their dealers spray it to match the car.

I am about to do a complete repaint of my Tiger to its original color,
including the hardtop.  I know/think/believe that the hardtops were
originally available only in black, although I have seen many/most painted
to match body color.  What is the 'correct' color scheme to maintain
originality?  Were the black hardtops intended to be painted or remain black
regardless of body color?
