When I did  mine I made new mounting pieces for the  horns....about 2" longer 
than the originals.  This pushed the horns outside  and out of the way of the 
blocking plate.  Then just had to drill a hole  for the wires in the 
plate......used a rubber grommet to protect the  wires.
