Have you ever seen the Ken Miles' car?     He took 2 Ford exhaust manifolds, 
turned them around and ran the pipes forward  then down.   This gave him lots 
of room for the Alpine steering but  probably created other problems.   
 
I never thought of the idea of also having to satisfy a right hand  drive 
car.
