This discussion reminds me of my favorite political bumper sticker,
courtesy of the old comic strip Bloom County:

     "NUKE THE GAY WHALES!"

I do see a tie-in to a previous discussion about electric power
generation and the byproduct of building more Nuke plants: Use spent
uranium as wheel weights. They already make armor-piercing shells from
the stuff.

I'll bet that idea would curl a few toes over at the EPA...
