John's right as usual.  The brass nipple on the washer bottle
goes through the cap and connects to a plastic host that runs 
to the bottom of the tank as John says.  Mine even had a coarse
 filter on the end..
 
I believe MK II's didn't habe the bras nipple and the washer
line ran straight througn the cap.  I'l have to remember to
check Ken Bishop's.
