May I suggest the Crane XR-I electronic conversion kit (JEGS,SUMMIT)'s about
$65.00. The great thing about it is it has a built in rev limiter that you
can adjust from 4000 to 8000RPM. Good way to save your engine. JEGS part
number 270-750-1700. Check it out.

About two months ago, (too long for my history folder) I asked about  
Pertronix electronic ignition systems.
 
Someone suggested an alternative with a rev limiter built in that they had  
good luck with.
