California, Yes.
Out of state 1961 Corvair wagon 20 years in California, - but never
registered. They treated it like it just came into the state. Had to bring
car to DMV before I got title.

Original California 1973 Datsun 510 off the books for 20+ years. Had to
bring to DMV before I got title.
