Sound like the plunger in the can is hung up. The spring is not strong
enough
to rebound from the vacuum when yoo release the pedal. With the engine off
when you hit the brake you should hear a small his as the vacuum is released.
This lets the spring push the plunger back freeing the brakes.
Cause is usually the seal around the plunger is too tight. Years ago CAT had
a tip from Tiger Tom that the foam rubber rope in the new Girling kits were
too thick causing the brakes to hang. He sugested trimming the seal so the
plunger moves easily in the can. The inside of the can must be extremely
smooth. Lube the inside and the leather seal in the plunger with the famous
red rubber grease.
Use you brake bypass while addressing the problem. Every Tiger driver with a
booster should carry one.
Try driving with the booster bypassed. Most of the racers do. You have to
brake
harder but it is 100% reliable. Doug Jenning sells the bigger Alpine wheel
cylinders that help some.
Good luck.
