How much boost are you looking for?  What fuel are you trying to run on?  Do you have ignition retard?  From what I've read (my Judson is still in a crate) 8.5 seems like a lot if you are running over 6 psi on pump gas with a stock distributor.  But I believe MSD still sells their boost retard module, which might make it work.
