I’d known him through the basic of the internet for years prior and always valued his knowledge and later his friendship. Jeff Porasik gave Rick his original trailer in 2004 and Rick restored it and said it would be used for a racecar some day . It took well over a decade, but Rick was determined and made it to the track as a 70 year old rookie! Rick would sometimes stay at our house for the VSCDA Blackhawk Classic and it is late night talks into the wee hours I’ll remember most. My last correspondence with Rick was a few weeks ago and he joked about being excited at executing his plan to walk to the mailbox. I told him the important part was being able to walk back. <div><br></div><div>I will miss him greatly. Godspeed, my friend. He generously offered to assist with SMRS points system and did a great job. His passion for racing his Bug Eye and passing it on to a younger generation is a real tribute to his excitement for Vintage Racing.
