<div class="yiv0726666314MsoNormal">Spridgeteers Racing and Non-Racing - 2023 is turning into a
big year for Sprite and Midgets.  This
will be the 65^th year of the Sprite and deserves some extra
attention.  I will be preparing some
articles for Victory Lane, who have offered to promote our Race Series.  If anyone would like to prepare an article or
work jointly with me on one, please let me know.  This year we will do our traditional 3 races
through VSCDA at Gingerman May 5-7, Blackhawk June 16-17, Grattan 11-13 we will
add Waterford Hills July 21-23 event to the mix as well.  There are many of us that have raced at
Waterford Hills over the years and this is great way to gain some more
attention for SMRS.  Our Easterly Vintage
Race friends have been busy also and have some exclusive Spridget Races at both
the Pittsburgh Grand Prix Schenley Park July 22-24 and Pitt Race July
14-16.  I have been having a discussion
with our PA friend Mark Maehling who has championed these exclusive PA Spridget
Races.  We have shared some brainstorming
on how to handle these additional Easterly Races with the hope of pulling other
Spridget racers in that may not be familiar with SMRS.  Some of the brain storming we have been
discussing is how to compile results, classification of cars, etc.  One option would be to create a new Eastern SMRS
and maintain our current SMRS and label it Midwestern with the intention of a
runoff at Grattan.  SCCA through Jason
Stine is planning a Spridget Race independent of the Vintage Race at Pitt Race as
well.</div>

of awards may mean we will not have enough. 
I am looking for additional sponsors / donations for SMRS and or
membership fees as an alternative.</div>
