<div>I just got off the phone with Rick Haynes. Rick as you know can be a bit prickly but he's a true Midget guy through and through. Anyway, Rick thinks that he can persuade Randy Canfield to come the the ELVF. If you're not aware, Randy is a multi-time HP national champion and has won more races in a Sprite than anyone else in the US and probably the world - no exaggeration!. He started as a factory team driver at Sebring in or around 1960. Randy quit racing a few years ago after a pretty severe shunt, and he is not in great health anymore.</div>

<div>Rick thinks he can talk Randy into flying into Milwaukee where Rick will pick him up and bring him to the track. Rick also thinks that Randy should be provided a pass and a golf cart. (and I think a motel room and dinner) Perhaps Randy could drive the pace car or at least ride in it.</div>

<div>I think this possibility (only a possibility because Randy will have to be invited and then hopefully Rick can persuade hime to come) brings so very much credibility to the event and anniversary that it takes the whole thing to a new level. If he accepts and the word can get out soon enough I'm sure he'd be worth a few more entries.</div>
