Yup, that pic is the club :) Far right is club Editor Phillip
and next to him is our club President, the blue car is 35 Le Mans
and the green one is 34 (I think).

A spridget motor/gearbox drops right into the frame with NO
cutting/welding on the original Singer frame. Have to fabricate
a rather easy to do front motor mount bracket and drop the whole
works in. The only hard part is converting the gearbox side
plate since there is a attachment directly on the Singer gearbox
for the parking brake but we have good drawings/instructions on
that process. Since Spridget rear axles are stronger than 1930's
Singer axle, take the axle shafts in to a machine shop, have them
snip off about 1/2" from the ends and lengthen the splines back to
normal and drop the whole thing, pumpkin and shafts right into the
Singer axle housing. That way you use the Singer backing plates
for the brakes, etc. and no mods for the mounting of the rear
axle.

The only cosmetic issue comes from the tachometer on the dash, on
the Singer the tach is mechanical and rotates the wrong way, so
you either lose the tach or get a new face with the numbers going
the Spridget way and convert the guts but a Singer guy will know
its wrong just by looking at the dash. Not a big deal since my
car IF it ever gets finished will have megasquirt and other new
things so it wont be original. I just have to finish the Austin
Mini Cooper before I work on my Singer.

We are a small group but I think fairly active for a less than
100 group. Stowe is a long way from S. Calif. but I have been a
few times. Our forum gets a few posts a day, nothing big but its
steady.
Makes no sense...someone is paying money for this
website.

I run a small web forum for Singer cars, we don't have a
lot of activity as you can imagine but it costs me money
to do this and I would never let it die...if I ever get
tired of doing it (been there many times due to club
politics) I would find someone to take it over but not
keep paying for it and do nothing with it.

Maybe I should make a Sprite sub-forum since so many
Singer's get Spridget re-powered :)
