I still have 3 Spridgets, and nary a day goes by where I don't turn wrenches on them. I started yesterday with a conversation about transmissions with Duane "Ottie" Ottness, was at Chuck Johnson's making parts after work, reassembling the front end after dinner and ended the day at 11 pm with a call from Tom Colby about bump steer on my race Sprite. I'm headed to Florida soon to finish doing the clutch on the Midget I keep there that I bought from former lister Larry Cogan, a car that was worked on prior to me by Kevin Valentine and Frank. It had been flawless for 17 years.</div><div><br></div><div>Things change. The mechanics of this list that were annoying (timing of messages, prior inability to attach photos, server reliability) were addressed by social media platforms. I actually started the facebook Spridget page, and it is quite active. It is NOT the same, not event a feint copy of this list. There are some young people there. Like Willie Sutton, if you want to steal money you need to rob a bank. </div><div><br></div><div>Tim Michnay and I work on Spridgets each Tuesday night at my place. Lynette cooks a mean meal for us, we occasionally get guests, and by 9 pm the wrenches are down and the beers are hoisted. The constant through it all has been the love of the cars and the friendships that change yet stay the same.
