I just checked my tires and found they were made in 2008 and that exceeds<br>
the six year life that is suggested in my readings. I don't have all that<br>
many miles on them so I'm not sure what to do at this time. I can't find<br>
any Stateside source for my current size. My concern is also about the<br>
effect on speedometer reading as I don't care to go the gps route.<br>

Am getting closer to putting the bigeye back on the road but am wondering about the condition of the cam. Do not want to tear the engine down so was thinking of measuring the valve movement where the rocker arm moves the valve. Anyone know how much the valve should? Stock cam, push rods and rocker arms.<br>

Whether or not any tyre fits is dependant on the wheel (dish in/dish<br>
out/inset/backspace) and the ride height at the rear. I once ran 175/70s on 4"<br>
rim wire spoke wheels and they didn't rub (much) but getting them on and<br>
off the car was extremely difficult.<br>

Six years - only if you drive the car year round and in temperature<br>
extremes. i.e. here in Canada. If you are only driving in 'Spritley'<br>
weather you can get many more years. By the time the tyres 'harden up'<br>
and loose grip, say ten years, they will behave much more like the OEM<br>
tyres.<br>

As for only ordering Stateside, what's the big fear of ordering<br>
internationally; a Talaban with every tube? There are several UK<br>
suppliers more than pleased to assist with the joy of dealing with<br>
customs. US customs can't be worse than Canada Customs (after all, our<br>
guys have guns now too!) Shipments by DHL, Fed Ex can be quoted on a<br>
'delivered' basis (includes customs and delivery to your door - for<br>
those uninitiated). UPS will do the same but they tend not to handle<br>
such sized shipments.<br>

As I said earlier, its more expensive, but if that's the tyre you<br>
need............<br>

If you want to go cheap, get a 155/80 13 from Coker.<br>
