List,
Just before Frank Clarici III (Spritenut) passed away suddenly in 2011 he
offered me a black kitten. Frank's daughter Tiffany had recently adopted a
cat which she named Lilly. I believe as the story goes Lilly was in the
"family way" unbeknownst to Tiffany. I really didn't want another cat after
my black cat BB crossed over but being Frank was our Spridget mentor, Dean
of All Spridgets how could I say no? It was only a few weeks after looking
at the kitten nursery which Tiffany had in her closet and I knew I had to
adopt again.

Many of the "Spridget List members" were very kind offering condolences for
the passing of my first black cat BB several weeks prior to the
nursery visit. I will never forget Jim Johnson RIP, explaining to me that
my cat "Crossed over the Rainbow Bridge" he sent links to help me
understand more as well as comfort my broken heart. Yes I did feel better
reading about this Rainbow Bridge. Frank also told me a story about his cat
Crusty and how he knew it was getting close to that time to cross over and
he brought his cat Crusty to work knowing it was the last day he would have
his cat.

At Frank's funeral his dear wife Diane asked when I was going to pick up my
new kitten, the rest is history. In Frank's honor I named that beautiful
silky smooth black cat Sprite and she was at my side for 14 wonderful
years. She traveled to Brooklyn every weekend for well over 10 years even
though she didn't like car rides. She became a stepsister to 2 more black
cats who adored her and one of them I named Spridget. I was shocked to hear
the words cancer from Sprites vet specialist and I held on to each and
every minute with that beautifly cat. I was fortunate enough to have an
additional 5 weeks with her and tried everything to make her more
comfortable until I couldn't. As we all hope our pets pass in their sleep
we are not that lucky. A friend of mine said to me 2 days ago "I think she
wants to go, she's just sad that you can't come with her". Then I knew even
though she purred and comforted my broken heart it was time to make that
dreaded appointment. I am so very grateful to have a wonderful vet that
both I and Sprite trusted. I am grateful to be strong enough to comfort her
to the very end and finally give her the freedom she deserved. I never had
a pet that adored me like Sprite before.

I am grateful to Tiffany, and her cat Lilly who crossed over in October.
I'm grateful to Diane & the entire Clarici family.
