[Spridgets] 948 thermostat housing

Well it had to happen somewhere... right?How about an English made thermostat in an English engine damaging the English correct thermostat housing?For ever I've endured the wrong part from some backyard parts supplier stuck in where it does not belong.  This time it's a seemingly proper part in a proper car....Anyone else find this on their car?  I'm going to aluminum weld the crack just because the casting is too nice to recycle.  Usually I find these horribly corroded where the hose attached....this one is too nice....Chuck
