After fitting new springs to my Sprite with lowering front mounts that also pick up the anti-tramp bars I wanted the ride height to remain the same so had my one inch lowering blocks turned down to half an inch. I fitted them and the right height was ok. I waited days or weeks for the springs to settle and then welded the Panhard pick-up and drilled the holes for the anti-tramp pick up on the spring U bolt brackets (that also pick up the dampers) which both have to ensure the Panhard rod and anti-tramp bars are horizontal and they were. About two hundred miles later and the springs have settled some more and the ride height is about half an inch lower than I want. So I can remove the half inch lowering blocks to get the ride height back to where I want it. BUT that will raise the centre spring brackets which will move the Panhard and anti-tramp bars away from Horizontal. So from a single piece of aluminium block I have made two half inch spacers that will set below the axle and while having no effect on the ride height, move the spring brackets lower to return the Panhard and anti-tramp back to horizontal. While it would be preferable to make new brackets it would be a lot more work and expense and for the anti-tramp might also mean making new front brackets as well. I might do that one day but I need a quicker and cheaper solution for now and this it. Regards Daniel On Sat, 19 Oct 2024 at 21:54, Rick Fisk wrote: > Rear spring locating plate.
